Day 1: Nairobi – Ndoto Mountains foothills

Nairobi to Ngurunit is a 510KM Journey. It’s far than Nairobi to Mombasa which is 490KM apart. On this route you will travel through the former Central Province counties to the border of Nyeri and Laikipia 1KM to the Equator.

At the Equator in Nanyuki you will witness the Coriolis Effect and see how objects in the Southern Hemisphere rotate differently from those in the Northern Hemisphere – to understand the formation of a vortex.

Still in Nanyuki you’ll get a chance to view the snow capped Mount Kenya up close and personal. The snow resembles an ostritch, and the mountain remains sacred to the local communities.

40KM past Timau town center, you’ll see the thousands of acres of wheat farms and golden yellow covered fields of Canola plants.

In Isiolo, we shall stop for an early lunch and a chance to purchase personal effects in the local supermarkets.

40KM past Isiolo is the Ewaso Nyiro river, that is fed by rivers west of mount Kenya, and Aberdare Ranges originating in the counties of; Nyandarua, Laikipia and Meru

The river serves, Laikipia, Samburu, Isiolo, Wajir, Garissa and joins Jubba river in Somalia, onwards to the Indian Ocean.

Further North is mount Ololokwe, Moille Hill and the Laggas of Laisamis

6 p.m. We arrive in Ngurunit where we have dinner and spend the night

Day 2: Ngurunit Springs – Marsabit National Park

Rise and shine in Ngurunit, a beautiful oasis at the foot of Ndoto mountains and Matthew Ranges. If I was asked where the garden of Eden was, this would be the place. The beauty of this place is understood 360 and it’s hard to chonicle it in video and photos. You just have to be here, that’s it.

After breakfast, we go fo a short wal through the woods to a place with springs with natural swimming pool. The sands of the waterways are expanse and gives you that beach feeling as fine sands gets between your toes. This place is heavenly in every sense of the word.

We head back to the camp for early lunch to embark on a trip to Marsabit National Park, the protected misty, Mount Marsabit forest, that proliferates in centuries old trees, crater lakes and springs where wild animals come to quench their thirst. Another rich self sustaining ecosystem, where you can breathe air that has not been breathed before..

After the safari, we head to the Hotel where we shall have a our dinner.

Day 3: Marsabit – Moyale Ethiopia – Marsabit

The trip to Moyale Ethiopia is scenic and smooth on the Great North Road a.k.a A2 highway a continuation of Thika Superhighway that joins with Ethiopia onwards to Cairo Egypt.

On the Ethiopia side we shall see the cultural ways of the largely cushite communities there and especially their dresswear and coffee ceremony.

Lunch time we get to taste the great coffee accompanied by Authentic Abyssinia Cuisine.. (I guess that’s where we borrow the name for that large, rounded tray, Sinia – don’t quote me though 🙂 ).

But just how sumptous is the Cuisine we have for you? Take a listen to what one guest had to say:

I almost want to keep this place a secret as the joy of it is that it’s literally mouth watering – you only ever eat food that is so delicious that you would consider moving here 😉 Thank you xxxx for providing us with Ethiopian delicacy.
